During the rainy season (January-April) when Peru Rail trains operates under the “Bimodal Service” (transfer by bus instead of train from Poroy station to Ollantaytambo, them from Ollantaytambo station to Aguas Calientes by train), Viajes Pacifico, will relocate all its operation from Ollantaytambo y/o Pachar station, meaning we won’t book trains departing from Poroy. All our passengers will be transferred from its hotels in Cusco (or Sacred Valley), directly to Ollantaytambo y/o Pachar station.
DAY 1:HD Cusco at night:
We will make a unique tour of the city at night. We will start with a visit to the Church and Convent of San Francisco where we will appreciate the larger oil paintings of South America, the choir of the church and the sepulchral cameras. Then we will head toward the Saint Christopher viewpoint to enjoy a panoramic view of the city. We will finish our tour with making class of our representative drink, Pisco Sour.
DAY 2: HD Callao, Monumental Port
We discover a traditional corner from the port of Callao, La Punta. We will start the tour with a panoramic view of La Casona Rospigliosi dating from the 20th century. We will continue our journey toward the Malecon Pardo, where you can enjoy a beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean, to then travel the outside of the Real Felipe Fortress. Afterwards we will go to the famous Casa Ronald, where we will find contemporary art galleries of national and international artists. We will finish our tour in the renewed neighborhood named Castilla, where we will appreciate in its streets the urban art as graffiti and murals.
DAY 3:HD City tour Barranco
Enjoy the experience in a bohemian style in the district of Barranco in Lima. You will begin this tour visiting the Museum of the famous photographer Mario Testino - MATE, here you will be able to appreciate an impressive exhibition of his outstanding work. Then you will visit Dedalo Art and Craft Gallery, this is an obligatory stop for those who are interested in seeing art together with creativity. You will continue your way to one of the most representative places of Barranco; The Bridge of Sighs, immortalized in a famous song of the well-known composer Chabuca Granda. To finish the tour you will go to Isolina Bar where you will enjoy a snack accompanied with a traditional drink.
DAY 4: HD Lima, Art and Numismatic
If you are a museum and history lover, this tour is for you. You will begin the tour visiting Art Museum of Lima, a place that possesses the most representative collection of art in Peru (3000 years of history). Then you will visit the Museum of Numismatics, known before as the Court of Audit or the Currency House, its exposition is oriented to exhibit the origin of Peruvian coins and the changes they (the coins) underwent over the centuries.
DAY 5: HD Churches and Viceroyal Balconies
Lima downtown is very remarkable for its colonial mansions and Mudejar style balconies, that is why you will start the tour appreciating the most important places. Then you will go to San Peter´s Church, a temple of Jesuits and the monastery of San Francisco, the masterpiece of the colonial architecture that dates back to 1546; you will visit the principal cloister designed with Sevillian tiles of the XVII century, the Sacristy with the canvases of Rivera and Zurbaran and the Catacombs (underground crypts of the colonial epoch) This tour cannot finish without visiting Cordano Bar, one of the most ancient and traditional of the downtown of Lima. This bar saw many popular people of our country such as presidents, poets, writers and artists, here you will try the famous home-made sandwich and a traditional drink.
DAY 6: HD Flavours of Lima
You will start the tour visiting the Museum of Gastronomy, this is an obligatory stop for those who want to know the history and the wealth of the well known Peruvian gastronomy. Then you will go to taste some Chinese snacks in the Chinatown known as well like Capon street, here you will be able to observe some constructions in Chinese style. You will finish your tour in the restaurant called "El rincón que no conoces" ("The place you don´t know"), founded by famous Mrs. Teresa Izquierdo (the mother of the Peruvian cuisine) where you will enjoy delicious lunch.
